Camp Radio Recap: Austin SXSW - Junofest - Maritime Tour - New Record!

It's been a dizzying few weeks here at Camp Radio HQ! For those of you loyalists not following out there on the social media, it's time for a bit of recap to let you know what we've been up to...

First off, be sure to get a copy of the new flexi single for 'The Girl Who Stole My Motorbike'. It's a new release from Calgary's Saved By Vinyl records and is a split with our pals Cousins.

Our trip in March to Austin, Texas was a rocking, mind altering blast! We played a few shows and thanks to our Austin pal Kristen, were able to score some great showcase slots. Thanks to Paul from Trashy and the Kid and Michael Passman for helping us out too.

Kristen took us on a whirlwind Austin tour and in no time, had us drinking with Wisconsin legends The Mighty Deerlick. Awesome.

It was crazy surreal and I gotta tell you I was incredibly honoured to be asked to be a part of the Juno Cup. Each year, as part of the Juno festivities, a game between Canadian rockers and ex-NHLers takes place in support of the terrific charity, Musicounts.

In case you missed it, the 'rockers' lost. But it was DAMN CLOSE. ;P

Camp Radio played Junofest which was a city wide event celebrating the Junos in Ottawa. We rocked the stage with pals Steve Adamyk, Adam and the Amethysts and Dearly Beloved.

Next up was the Martimes for 4 shows with our good friends, Sheezer! We rocked Halifax, Sackville, Charlottetown and Moncton and got to play with great bands like Thalidomy Kids and Yellow Teeth. Big thanks to our awesome tour pal, Kate, who took super great care of us. Visit us soon, Kate!
